‘Food for the Future’ launched August 2020, the programme provided an in-depth look at the challenges and latest solutions to the problem of feeding rapidly growing Asian populations. Hosted by Yvonne Chan, ex-anchor of CNA First Look Asia, the four episodes deal with ‘Health & Nutrition,’ ‘Innovation’, ‘Sustainability’ and ‘Resilience’ and include reports on a range of subjects, including cell multiplication technology, plant and insect-based proteins, healthier forms of sugar and sustainable seafood.
Working around multiple COVID-19 challenges, FIA and ASN Media gathered case-studies, insights and news of ground-breaking technologies, from some of the region’s leading food and beverage sector thinkers and innovators. The programme also looks at the impact of new digital technologies on food manufacture and marketing.
Food Industry Asia represents the food & beverage industry in Asia – promoting a climate for sustainable growth and serving as a regional knowledge hub for science-based advocacy.
Launched in December 2020, ‘Adapting to Tomorrow’s Environment’ provided an depth look at the work of water and environmental management professionals in implementing solutions to the climate and ecological emergency.
The programme features stories from across the sector that support a multidisciplinary approach to mitigation, adaptation and resilience, and seeks to highlight the innovative ways in which technology and nature based solutions are being used for the benefit of local communities and future generations.
Presented by Tom Heap (BBC News, Countryfile, Panorama) the full programme comprises of several short feature films covering projects in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa from participants Atkins, BAM Nuttall, Bristol City Council, Jacobs, South Tyneside Council, The Walker Institute (University of Reading) and Volker Stevin. These films sit alongside interviews from leading industry experts including Terry Fuller, Chief Executive, CIWEM; Emma Howard-Boyd, Chair, Environment Agency; and Mark Lloyd, Chief Executive, The Rivers Trust.
